Dear List Members!
As many of you know, for centuries Banat has been a multi-ethnic area: Germans, Hungarians, Romanians, Serbs, Bulgarians, Croats, Slovaks have lived side by side here, generally in peace. My great-grandparents' generation spoke at least three and often four languages.
Today, this multi-ethnicity seems to be disappearing, but I think it is symbolic: I wish you a Merry Christmas in each of their languages!
