Oh my goodness! This is incredible! I’ve spent countless hours trying to track them down, and this lead is exactly what I needed. My uncle has been working on this family history off and on since the 1980s but has taken a break, so this is such a breakthrough. I can’t thank you enough for your help! I recall seeing your name as the person I need to contact to order this book, is that correct?
If I may ask one additional question: does it by chance list Barbara Sehi’s (born 1890) child known as “Kathy”? Barbara was married to Nikolaus Kramer, and they had a child, Joseph, in the U.S. before returning to Romania sometime in the 1920s, which is when I believe Kathy would have been born.
I have records showing that Joseph returned to the U.S. in 1945 under Truman’s refugee executive order, and their parents followed in 1949. My uncle believes Kathy may have died in a concentration camp or, more likely, in a refugee camp, and possibly that she was detained with her brother. Because Joseph was a U.S. citizen, he was released, but Kathy’s fate remains unknown. Without her birth date, it’s been incredibly challenging to trace where or when she may have passed.
This will be my last question—I promise. Thank you again for all of your help! You have just saved me so much time!
