Dear List-members!
Of course, I don't want to interfere in who gets what citizenship, but I think it's also important to be aware of the following:
The way Hungary's politics are looking, it is by no means certain that it will still be a member of the European Union in 6-8 years. The Hungarian government is currently making friends with the Russians and the Chinese, not with Western European states.
Romania, by comparison, is and will remain a committed member of the European Union and NATO. I am glad that I have Romanian citizenship alongside my Hungarian citizenship.
I repeat: good luck to everyone in acquiring a new citizenship, whichever you choose.
Florian Sterbinszky (dual Hungarian-Romanian citizen)
