Secondly, I am doggedly trying to find the name of my ancestor Mathias Vareng's wife. She is listed as N or Margarethe? in all the traditional references, and I have not been able to find another clue.
Unless someone knows of a searchable electronic database across all villages, my only resort is to ask all of you for help.
My theory is that he married between his arrival at age 17 in 1766 at Sackelhausen and his living in Charleville and the documentation of his first child in 1775. Charleville was established in 1771. I'm going to assume he moved there when it was established. So, I am searching for a to-be-determined village where they hypothetically were married.
