GUTEKUNST, (little different spelling) can be located in the Black Forest. I worked for several years with Charles GUTEKUNST. He lived in Schietingen which is close to Haiterbach.
He has a profile at Linkedln, so you can try to contact him.https://www.linkedin.com/in/charles-gutekunst-45468a12/?originalSubdomain=cz

Hello, i can just tell you that i've done some research about the Gutenkunst origin. It is most likely that the Gutenkunst family was coming from Germany, area of Haiterbach, black forest. A single record of Gutikunst shows up in Stader Vol 2 and Kallbrunner , 4 persons, farmer, coming from Sarbochenheim, Lorraine (german). The complete genealogy of the black forest tree of this family is known. However, we don't know how the Gutikunst family is linked to them. There are several Gutenkunst families known lokated on the left rhine river side. The theory is that from there the link to the banat is made. The descendants of MIchael Gutikunst are unknown, however we have an almoust complete genealogy later in Gross Jetscha. The first recorded Gutenkunst was Sebastian + 1833. This family moved later with Joseph Gutenkunst *1814 and his wife Margaretha Türk *1811 to Sankt Georgen. The link to my Dippong family there was made via the Krämer family. If you want to know detail plese contact me, we can later publish the results on this forum.Am 26.06.2024 um 05:08 schrieb Philip S. via groups.io:Hello Ms. Barber, first of all, thank you very much for your contribution with the Stefansfeld entries, in my original post I asked to lookup Josef Gutenkunst, who married Katharina Krämer.I do not know where or when they got married, but I found some entries in the Kathreinfeld church records about their children who were buried in 1859 and 1861 in the village of St. Georgen, I also do not know when they were born, because the only clue about their existence besides the burial records is the marriage of their son "Anton Gutenkunst" who was 22 years old when he married Magdalena Kollinger in 1871, this is the source that mentions the full name of his parents.
Familysearch has birth records for the town of Kathreinfeld from 1795 to 1841, marriage records from 1795 to 1861 , and death records from 1795 to 1873, however the birth records from 1841 to 1861 are missing from that site, including births in St. Georgen, before the town started registering separately their own parish records in 1862, which makes it difficult for me to connect the missing dots in their family tree.
