Re: Ancestry DNA Recognizes Germans in Romania

I also received an update from Ancestry which caused me to rethink again, for the third time, where my unknown mother's father came from. I did the Ancestry DNA test in 2018 and about 50% was English (my father's side) and about 50% was German (my mother's side). So I figured my mother's father was German, perhaps a German doctor working in a mid-wife school in Szeged, Hungary, which my mother's mother was attending when she got pregnant.  Then, my first big change in the Ancestry map said he was Magyar, from Hungary.  Well, that made sense, since my grandmother, in her late years, told my half-brother that he was a peddler.  The next Ancestry change added Romania, Bulgaria, and a lot of eastern Europe to Hungary as the source of his DNA.  Now this latest change adds Russia, so I don't know what to believe.
