Matthias KNAB was born in 1762 in Vittersbourg (Witterburg) in Lorraine. He was the son of Lorenz KNAB and Anna (Marianna) OFER. He married on 16 Apr 1782 in St. Hubert to Anna Maria (Marianna) URI who was born in 1762, place unknown. That marriage produced several children, including Maria Theresa, born 1785 and the subject of Elaine’s initial inquiry. Mathias died 6 May 1796 in Marienfeld. Anna Maria then married Johann SCHLATT(H) on 31 May 1796 in Marienfeld. Anna Maria died 29 Oct 1830.

If this accounting is correct, we can conclude that much of the confusion results from inaccurate listings in both Marienfeld FBs. The Krisch FB shows Mathias in a separate family and not as the son of Lorenz K. and Anna OFER. It also shows his wife as Maria Anna KNAB, the daughter of the Lorenz and Marianna, when in fact she was a URI.
The Lung FB correctly shows Mathias as the son of Lorenz and Anna and also shows him married to Marianna URI, but incorrectly also lists his wife as Annamaria, the daughter of Lorenz and Anna, who married Johann SCHLATH.
If some or all of my summary above is correct, the next step is to confirm that this family came from the village of Vittersbourg in Lorraine. So far, I have not been able to find them there, but hopefully someone interested in this family can do that.
